Our 3-day ride through Karnataka’s Western Ghats took us across enchanting forests, past roaring waterfalls, through coffee plantations shrouded in mist, and along some of India’s finest winding roads – all aboard some of the world’s best sports bikes and adventure motorcycles.❤️

- Day 02: Marasanige > Kalasa > Horanadu > Kyatanamakki > Panchali Kallu (Megunda) > Agalagandi > Koppa > Devangi (Bananki Homestay)

- Road & Route Condition:
- Great for a sportsbike, fantastic tarmac all along except 70-100 kms of patched-tarmac and dirt-roads in the overall route.
- Ideal for Solo Riders, Women Riders and small groups of upto 4-6 motorcyclists




- Premium Fuel Stations Enroute:
- Even in major towns like Hassan, Koppa we couldn’t find XP95, so had to settle with regular fuel
- However to our surprise, we found Indian Oil XP95 in smaller towns such as Kalasa & Kottigehara
- Public Toilets: No designated public toilets are available enroute | recommend to find a hotel/cafe to use the restrooms
- Stay at Kadukallu Homestay, Marasanige:
- Perched atop a hillock, this homestay offers beautiful views and good enclosed parking
- However the upkeep of the rooms and restrooms + the food were very average and definitely not a place I would go back again
- Suitable for groups, friends – not for families
- Parking for cars and motorcycles: inside the premises of the homestay
- Location: Kadukallu Homestay, Marasanige, Close to Kalasa, Karnataka [Google Maps link]
- Tariff: INR 2,200 per person/per night [includes all 3 meals + coffee, tea]

- Stay at Bananki Homestay, Devangi:
- Clean, spacious, welcoming homestay run by a couple
- Complimented by warm staff and the most delicious Malenadu food ever 🤤
- Suitable for couples, families, friends and groups,
- Parking for cars and motorcycles: inside the premises of the homestay
- Location: Bananki Homestay, Devangi, Koppa, Karnataka [Google Maps link]
- Tariff: INR 2,900 per person/per night [includes all 3 meals + coffee, tea] for Standard room


- Food Stops we loved:
- Coffee District, Anemahal, Sakleshpura:
- Stop for coffee, brownies, cakes and small snacks
- Must eat: Filter coffee, chocolate brownie with ice cream, walnut banana cake, vanilla cake
- Motorcycle parking: free parking by the roadside, opposite the coffee shop
- Mode of payment: accepts cash, UPI, credit and debit cards

- Sri Annapoorneshwari Fast Food, Kalasa:
- A small roadside shop before entering Kalasa town, selling delicious Mangalore Buns and Goli Bajji
- Must eat: Mangalore Buns, Goli Bajji, Coffee
- Motorcycle parking: free parking by the roadside, opposite the coffee shop
- Mode of payment: accepts cash, UPI only
- Location: Sri Annapoorneshwari Fast Food, before Kalasa, Karnataka

- Take it easy and relish the ride: Don’t get hustled, ride at your comfortable pace, take frequent breaks to sip lots of local-coolers, water, soak-in the views, cherish the time with your motorcycle group and enjoy the ride 😍




ALWAYS ON A MOTORCYCLE:
✅ Wear Full Riding Gear
✅ Be courteous, Respect the speed limits on public road/highways & Go Easy on the throttle while crossing a village
✅ Hammer the racetrack, pace the street
✅ DO NOT Litter, carry back your disposable bottles/snack wrappers etc
