One of the benefits of waking up early on a saturday morning on the excuse of jogging is meeting friends at one of the oldest and yummiest South Indian breakfast places in Bangalore – Brahmin’s Coffee Bar.
About Brahmin’s Coffee Bar:
Located in the south-central part of Bangalore or Bengaluru in Shankarpuram, Brahmin’s Coffee Bar was started in 1965 by late Sri K V. Nageshwar Adiga alias Nagesh Rao and offers only 5 items:
Idly, Vada, Khara Bath, Kesari bath, Kaapiย and Tea ; NO SAMBAR – only chutney.
Currently it is run by Mr.Radhakrishna Adiga; It is said that he would remember one’s regular order just by looking the customer’s face; Although now, one has to buy a token and collect the food from another counter owing to the heavy crowd and some miserable souls who never used to pay.

TRIVIA: The popular restaurant chain of Adiga’s was started by K.N Vasudev Adiga son of Sri K V. Nageshwar Adiga !!

But their most popular offering is Khara Bath flooded with coconut-coriander chutney and filter kaapi; Yes they brew one of the best filter coffee or kaapi in Bangalore and anyone who has tasted it cannot say no to another cup – unless the queue to collect the kaapi is long most ofย the time – Touch wood, a stampede for coffee has never happened ๐
