Nestled in the traditional old-Bangalore neighbourhood of Basavanagudi, The Coffee San is a cozy specialty coffee shop where great coffee is served in a calm, minimal ambience.
And honestly, it is good to finally have a specialty coffee shop in Namma Basavanagudi.
Away from the hustle of some of Bengaluru’s more popular café neighbourhoods, The Coffee San feels like a little neighbourhood coffee stop – a place where you can drop in for a good cuppa, catch up with friends, work solo or even settle in for a date.

A Specialty Coffee Shop in Basavanagudi:
The Coffee San is a cozy minimal coffee shop thoughtfully created out of the garage of its owner, Mr. Sankarsh, that delivers a beautiful coffee shop experience with:
- Indulgent specialty coffee
- Cozy ambience for unlimited conversations
There is no unnecessary fuss.
Just coffee, conversations and a relaxed neighbourhood vibe.

A Purist Coffee Shop:
Started by Mr. Sankarsh about four months ago, The Coffee San is a purist coffee shop – serving a custom blend of specialty coffee sourced from Chikmagalur, Yercaud and Coorg, with a menu focused on delicious and balanced beverages.
The menu currently includes:
- Iced coffees
- Hot coffees
- Matcha latte
- Hojicha (oat-milk-based) latte
- Manual brews
- Iced teas

The Coffee San keeps its focus where it matters – the coffee.
My Only Gripe:
There aren’t really any options to eat or snack on, except the Nutella brownie, which isn’t as good as their coffee. ☹️
So if you’re looking for a café where you can order a full breakfast, sandwich or a meal along with your coffee, this isn’t that kind of place.

But if your primary objective is good coffee and conversation, The Coffee San fits the bill rather nicely.
Must Try:
- Salted Caramel Latte (Hot)
- Americano (Iced or Hot)
- Pink Velvet Matcha

Can You Work from The Coffee San?
Yes, you can.
If you’re looking for a coffee shop in Basavanagudi to work from, The Coffee San can work for a short work session.
There is good 5G mobile connectivity from major carriers, although there is no Wi-Fi provided by the coffee shop.
So bring your own mobile data.
The limited indoor seating also means I wouldn’t treat this as your full-day work café. But for a few hours of getting things done over a good coffee, it works.
