Being a pizza fan, the news of opening of California Pizza Kitchen outlet in Indiranagar Bangalore was music to my ears. CPK as fondly referred by the fans has achieved a cult status for their wood-fired pizzas across the US.

The India franchise of California Pizza Kitchen is undertaken by JSM Corporation, who are also responsible for bringing Hard Rock Cafe and Shiro to India with 2 outlets in Bangalore.
As soon as I entered my eyes lit up to see the huge wood fired oven 🙂 Now I know why they taste so good 😀
Overpowered by hunger I asked for anything which takes the least time to prepare – Herb Onion Focaccia with Checca Appetizer – FIRST MISTAKE !!
The bread was well prepared, but it never gelled with the Checca aka chopped tomatos with seasoning and Zero Salt – Big Turn-Off
Once the hunger pangs were under control, sanity took over and I actually saw the menu 🙂
Our Order:
- Herb Onion Focaccia with Checca (TOMATO SALSA)- INR 180
- Wild mushroom pizza with grilled garlic chicken – INR 585
- Italian tomato and Basil pizza – INR 385 – MUST HAVE
- Pepperoni Supremo pizza – INR 545
- Pesto Pizza – INR 395
The classic Italian Tomato & Basil Pizza and Margarita are the benchmarks for how well a simple pizza can taste.
The Italian Tomato and Basil Pizza outshined every other pizza we ordered and was undoubtedly MY FAVORITE and BEST CPK Offered me 🙂
Verdict:
The Veg Pizzas are absolutely good, not recommended for the non-veg versions.
