One of the appealing aspects of travel is the Joy of Discovering a new place which churns out delicious food and this time its on NH-22 on the way to Spiti Valley.
Swati Bhojanalay, run by Mr.Jagadish Thakur is a small hotel on NH-22 in a hamlet called Badhal in Jeori- Himachal Pradesh, which serves the best tasting Rajma Chawal (Rice with Red-Kidney Beans) and Kadi Chawal along with Love. 🙂
Our first encounter with this place was an act of desperation aka HUNGER 😛 , but when I revisited this place on the way back from Spiti Valley to Rampur was when I realized the yum factor of the Rajma and Kadi Chawal Jagadish bhai prepares.
Also, the kind of hospitality he showed is nothing short of visiting a close friend; in fact he was so happy see us back after a week in Spiti Valley – he refused to charge a single rupee for the delicious Rajma and Kadi Chawal in-spite of our 30mins argument .
His words before we bid Goodbye ‘ Agale saal vapas aaye, phir dekenge ” (Come back next year, then I will charge) 🙂
Verdict: Super Duper Good !!!
All the more reason to ride to Spiti valley next year 😀
